ARTESANÍA ANCESTRAL: LOS UROS DEL LAGO TITICACA EN SUDAMÉRICA- ANCESTRAL CRAFTS: UROS in TITICACA LAKE - SOUTH AMERICA.

Después de una temporada inactiva, vuelvo con una información  que me llamó la atención: un pueblo ancestral que teje sus propios barcos, y hacen unas artesanías textiles preciosas, ¡digno de ver y admirar!

Los uros constituyen  una etnia, una de las más antiguas del continente americano,  que vive a unos 3800 metros de altitud, en el lago Titicaca.  Viven en islas flotantes que son un conjunto de promontorios hechos de totora,  una hierba que crece en la superficie del lago y que ellos tejen elaborando sus propios barcos y viviendas. También realizan artesanías textiles como alfombras, bolsas, tapices, que venden a los turistas.

After an off-season, I return with information about an ancestral people: the Uros of Titicaca Lake, in South America.They live on floating islands that are making “knitting” with totora, an herb that grows on the surface of the lake. They made their own boats and houses. Also made textile crafts like carpets, bags and other artworks.
